
CIMAGE Students Create Bihar’s First Humanoid Robot
Recently, students from the prestigious CIMAGE Group of Institutions in Bihar achieved a historic milestone in the field of technology. Talented students from BCA, B.Sc. IT, and MCA programs collaborated to develop Bihar’s first humanoid robot, which they named “Sumedh 1.0”.
To celebrate this remarkable achievement, a grand event was organized at CIMAGE College Campus in Patliputra Industrial Area, Patna. The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Sharad Kumar Yadav, Vice-Chancellor of Aryabhatta Knowledge University, and Prof. Dr. Shankar Kumar, Registrar, as the chief guests.
A Fully Indigenous Robot – “Sumedh 1.0”
The event began with a warm welcome by Dr. Neeraj Agrawal, Director of CIMAGE College, who praised the dedication and hard work of the students. He emphasized that “Sumedh 1.0” is 100% developed using indigenous technology and aligns with the "Make in India" initiative. No imported parts were used in its construction, making it a truly self-reliant innovation.
Dr. Agrawal also highlighted that “Sumedh 1.0” is not just an information-sharing robot but is also capable of performing physical activities like yoga. This innovation is a significant step forward in technology and has the potential to be beneficial in the fields of health and education.
A Spectacular Launch Moment
Following the introduction, Dr. Neeraj Agrawal invited Prof. Dr. Sharad Kumar Yadav to officially launch “Sumedh 1.0”. As soon as the Vice-Chancellor pressed the remote button, the humanoid robot proudly lifted the Indian flag and moved forward. The auditorium erupted with excitement and applause, witnessing this historic moment.
After this, "Sumedh" identified the guests and presented them with red roses, leaving the audience amazed. This moment was both emotional and inspiring, as it showcased Bihar’s growing technological capabilities.

At the end of the event, Prof. Dr. Sharad Kumar Yadav congratulated CIMAGE College for this outstanding achievement. He remarked that this innovation is a major step in Bihar’s technological progress and has the potential to bring revolutionary changes in education, healthcare, and research.
